3.2.1 Null hypothesis

The null hypothesis for the primary analysis was, that there would be no statistically significant difference after 12 months between the proportion responders in the experimental condition (group B) and that in the control condition (group A). As described before, the sample size was determined on the basis of a 20% difference in percentage responders between the conditions, and a two-tailed test with alpha set at p=0.05.
